Chlorine Generators are electronic systems that turn salt into chlorine. Salt is made up of two elements-sodium and chlorine. As the pool water flows through the electrolytic cell, electrolysis separates the saline into its basic components, sodium and chloride. During this process, a small amount of ozone is produced, the water is sanitized, bacteria free and returned to the pool for the cycle to be repeated. The chlorine molecule is then returned making salt again. The process is endlessly repeated, and only needs to have additional salt added when it has been removed from the pool due to drainage, splash over or overflow.
